These two books replace the previous edition that was 3 books. The previous edition was made up of 2 student books (advanced and beginners). These have been combined into 1 student edition. The teacher's edition remains as one volume. These best selling books are used by many secondary schools as the adopted textbook for courses in television production. The books have been completely revised to reflect the advances in television production in the last ten years incorporating the advent of digital imaging and equipment. The authors estimate that 60 percent of the material is all new to this edition and over 95% of the material has been revised and updated. Each chapter in the student edition features: learning objectives, vocabulary, topic discussion, review questions, student project plan, evaluation sheets and extension activities. The teacher's edition contains all of this plus: instructional notes to the teacher, answer sheets, instructional ideas and evaluation notes. Coverage of the text includes equipment use, project planning instruction, newsgathering methodology, studio production and movie production.
