About Us

SCHOOLTV.com (http://www.schooltv.com) is a web-site designed to promote the writing, speaking, and software development business of Keith Kyker and Christopher Curchy.

The SCHOOLTV.com web-site was first published in January, 1998, and has been available online continuously since that time.  SCHOOLTV.com is funded entirely by Keith Kyker and Christopher Curchy, and receives no financial or in-kind support from any educational institution.  The name "SCHOOLTV.com" indicates our emphasis on providing valuable products and services for the school video and media production market.

Keith Kyker (M.Ed.) has 22 years teaching experience, and has been working with school television production for 18 of those years.  He has earned degrees in educational media/instructional technology and speech education from the University of Central Florida.  Keith currently serves as the educational media specialist at Northwood Elementary School in Crestview, Florida.  Keith was previously the media specialist at Lewis Middle School in Valparaiso, Florida where he earned District Teacher of the Year honors in 1999.  Before becoming a media specialist, Keith taught television production, media production, public speaking, and English at the high school and college levels.  Keith recently served on the committee that developed the assessment for National Board Certification for library media, and was instrumental in providing benchmarks for accomplished media practices.

Christopher Curchy (Ed.S.) is the media specialist at Jensen Beach High School in Martin County, Florida.  Prior to working at Jensen Beach High School, Christopher was the media specialist at NorthLake Park Community School in Orlando, Florida. He has also served as the technology instructor at Windy Ridge PreK-8 School in Orlando.  Before that time, Chris served a successful 10-year stint as the television production instructor at Dr. Phillips High School in Orlando. Since graduating from the University of Central Florida in 1977, Christopher has taught students in grades kindergarten through high school in central Florida.  Christopher is an adjunct professor at the University Central Florida in the Educational Technologies Graduate Program.

Together, Keith and Chris have written six educational technology books for Greenwood - Libraries Unlimited, and host the popular web-site SCHOOLTV.COM (http://www.schooltv.com).   Additionally, they develop video production software, and have recently authored a DVD and CD-ROM to supplement their latest textbooks.  Keith and Chris have presented to thousands of educators at more that 50 conferences and educational gatherings in 14 states.
